I can’t remember a time when the body and its healing ways, didn’t amaze me. It is in my nature to nurture the people around me and help their bodies to mend. At first, it was about the emotional aspect but I knew that there had to be more that I could do. It soon was easy to see the strong correlation between the physical body and the mental well-being. Adding touch accelerated the healing process and helped me understand the root cause of many chronic issues.
In 1999, I came across a school that emphasized self-healing. The Kalamazoo Center for Healing Arts introduced me to the world of massage and gave me a path to follow. With a general knowledge of the body, I began to work on friends and family.
Eventually in 2002, I made the move to California and found The Academy of Natural Healing which provided me with an 1128 hour education in massage, bodywork, nutrition and traditional Chinese medicine. With my Holistic Healthcare Practitioner certification, a new world was open to me. I took the leap and began massage as an actual career while attending school full-time. Within 3 months, I had a strong clientele built up and realized that this was my calling.
I quickly became a specialist in back, neck and shoulder issues. My attention to detail allows me to relieve nerve pain, correct postural alignment, and free my clients from chronic headaches. Adding in my knowledge of sports and weight training, along with trigger point therapy and shiatsu, I am able to be very specific in the relief I can provide my clients. But I also enjoy the softer side of my field. Maternity massage is amazing to give and I receive such fulfillment in helping a new mother get through the aches and pains of carrying a child. Subtle techniques of reflexology, hot stone and energy work are all part of what I can do for a client.
My clients will tell you that the combination of passion, knowledge and technique keep them coming back. When I can incorporate Chinese herbs, bodywork and a little life guidance, the results are amazing. Caring for my clients and giving them the best of my knowledge is my main focus and I believe that shows in all that I do.
