There is a reason why Shawn is the Q of P (Queen of Pain), she knows how to work with people to achieve results, and in my case, with pain came gain! I am an avid golfer, and was experiencing shoulder pain accompanied with less mobility while swinging my golf club. I originally sought Shawn due to her experience with rehab. She worked with me on several exercises to help strengthen my shoulder, with tubing, bands, foam rollers and free weights. Shawn also introduced me to several stretches to work on not only after working out, but also before and after my golf game. After weeks of training sessions my shoulder was feeling pain relief and was getting much stronger. My golf game was improving, and I wasn’t having the nagging pain in my shoulder. I then was able to focus on my fitness goals and nutrition.
I'm 47 and was feeling lethargic even though I was working out regularly for years and playing a lot of golf, walking the courses when allowed. Shawn showed me I was in a rut with my workouts, and it would be difficult to improve my physical condition and achieve my goals by continuing what I was doing. She showed me several new exercises, balancing techniques to help improve my golf game, and proper form to prevent injuries. She helped me understand how important changing your workouts around is paramount for seeing results and not platueing.
I was also on Shawn’s nutrition menu plan, which was very helpful in helping me eat right and control portion sizes. I liked the convenience of the program and that I could change my foods by a drop down menu on my computer, and stay within the calories, protein, carbs and fat that Shawn had figured out for me. She took me from 198# down to 173# at present, and I am back to fitting in my clothes comfortably, even going down two notches on my belt. My body fat also went down considerably. I have more energy and stamina, but it came through regular physical conditioning and permanent changes to my diet. I also continue working on strengthening and stretching my shoulder regularly.
The principles that Shawn taught me have stayed after my time with her and have produced continued results, but not as dramatic as when I was seeing her regularly. She knows her business, just look at her! She is motivated in showing each client how to achieve his or her goals, and is personally dedicated in getting you to your target. |

I began working with Shawn approximately three years ago. I was involved in a high impact auto accident wherein I sustained major traumatic injuries to my entire body, especially to my back. In the emergency room, I had several x-rays taken. The films of my back indicated that the impact had been so severe that my spine looked like an accordion. My spine had formed a continuous zigzag from the neck area to my tailbone.
Before the accident, I considered myself somewhat fit and very active. I ran along dirt fire-roads, played tennis, hiked and kick-boxed. Unfortunately, I found myself unable to do any of things I once enjoyed. Because I experienced a tremendous amount of excruciating pain, over the next year and a half, I sought treatment via several differing avenues. I worked out in the gym, on my own. I tried physical therapy, acupuncture and eventually turned to chiropractic care. None of these seemed to provide any long-term relief. I was still experiencing back pain, not to mention, I had gained weight from not being as active and I found myself feeling depressed. I knew I needed to make some changes. I spoke to Shawn and admitted to her that because of the injury to my back, the quality of my life, at that particular point, was not what I desired. She in turn, educated me on the aspects and benefits of CORE TRAINING. Soon thereafter, I began working out with her. Together as a team, we worked diligently to strengthen my abdominal muscles, tone and tighten other areas and strengthen my back. While working with Shawn, I never felt alone. She was always very supportive and helped me work through the pain. She was encouraging and she pushed me beyond the limits I had set for myself. Because of this I saw results immediately. Shawn introduced me to many advantageous weight-training techniques. Through the use of different tools, she helped me, better yet, she taught me, to strengthen my core. Over a 10 to 12 month period, I lost weight, decreased my body fat percentage, and most importantly, I began enjoying pain-free days.
With her help, I have improved my eating habits as well as my workout habits. She taught me to do many of the exercises on my own at the gym and at home. It has been three years now since my accident and I continue to work out my core. I have even started dancing Hula again. I owe Shawn a great deal. I feel I now have my life back. I am enjoying many of the activities I once loved and I am happier than I have been in years. Thanks Shawn! You are the BEST! |

Over the past two years, I have been extremely fortunate to have Shawn as my trainer. She helped me get in shape preparing for my wedding day. We worked on lowering my body fat and building muscle tone to look awesome in my wedding dress. Soon after the big day, I became pregnant. With Shawn's expertise in pre-post natal exercise, I felt confident that I would stay in shape, while avoiding injury during my pregnancy. She has always developed training programs for my specific needs. Now, Shawn is helping me shed those last few baby pounds. We all have a choice in whom we choose as a trainer. I chose Shawn for her wealth of knowledge, constant support and dedication to my goals.

First off, Shawn, THANK YOU! I cannot begin to tell you the amazing results I have seen from my sessions with you and my new routine (with the help of my dietary changes). I have lost some weight and some of the softness- and I am hearing from people I haven't seen in a while that I look great, and of course I feel great which is most important. And to top it all off- I went in for a blood test to see if I had improved with my changes over the past two months, and my cholesterol is down to 141 (from 171), and best of all my triglycerides are down to 92 (from 198!!!!). So I'm getting healthier all around, which was a HUGE goal of mine. I am looking forward to continued results and achieving my goals before my wedding day! Looking forward to seeing you again soon! |

| At 45 years old and 240lbs, I decided it was time to get back into shape. After this realization, I had to find someone who would assist me with my endeavor. Shawn was training my daughter and agreed to meet with me. After speaking with her, I realized that she was a no nonsense trainer. Thankfully, she accepted the task of assisting me with my goals. Shawn has been training me now for seven months and counting.
I initially had two goals, lose weight and rehab my shoulders. I discussed my goals with Shawn and she set a course of action to attain my goals. With Shawn’s supervision, I have lost 15 pounds and my shoulders are feeling significantly better. As I continue training with Shawn I realize that my goals are evolving: I want to increase lean muscle mass but still remain flexible in addition to losing additional weight. Without Shawn’s supervision I may have increased muscle but I believe I would have risked injury. Shawn has developed my workouts to meet my goals, but then stretches my abilities to take me to the next level.
If someone really wants to get to their next level of fitness training, I highly recommend Shawn Ferrando’s services. If you are of weak mind, you need not show up to Shawn’s workout.

| Shawn, I can't believe what a difference my workouts with you have made. My doctor said that I was pre-diabetic. I also had trouble with my back and legs which ached and were stiff when I sat for a long periods of time. When I started working with you on exercises for strengthening my back and stretching exercises, I no longer have problems with my back and my legs. The difference only took a few weeks. Also, with your guidance, I no longer have the pre-diabetic condition since I started exercising and eating better. |

| I saw a friend that I hadn't seen in a while. I immediately noticed that she had lost weight, looked more toned and had a glow about her. When I asked her what she was doing differently, she told me she had gotten a personal trainer, Shawn Ferrando.
I was about to turn 40 and wanted to get back into shape after having three kids so I called Shawn for an appointment. Shawn asked me what my fitness goals were and what timeframe I had in mind for achieving them. I set myself a goal of six months.
In my first session, we discussed my normal eating habits and took some measurements (yuck) to establish a baseline. Shawn customizes her client's fitness programs based on their individual goals and their fitness level. During that time, I learned a lot from Shawn. For the first time in my life, I truly enjoy exercising and look forward to my training sessions with Shawn. With her guidance, I've learned how to use the correct posture, techniques and exercises to maximize my workouts. She has helped me increase my overall strength, improve my posture, shave off a few inches, drop a few pounds and carry myself with a newfound confidence. You can't help but realize that your money is well spent when your friends, family and co-workers notice your toned body (butt).
Shawn always pushes me to do more than I think that I can; but the goals we've set together regarding my progress are very feasible and realistic. One of the best things about my partnership with Shawn is her vested interest me as a person and my physical fitness goals, strengths and weakness. I had recently joined my local gym, but the workout a "trainer" had given me, was yielding few results. I had seen Shawn working out and wondered how she kept herself in such great shape. I approached her and was so impressed with her professionalism, knowledge and manner that I hired her for training immediately. I had always been athletic and active but Shawn's workouts put me in the best shape I had ever been in. To this day, her expertise and fitness routines are still shaping my life.
